ACUPUNCTURE

*Your treatment may additionally include traditional fire glass cupping and/or burning of moxibustion over specific acupoints.

Acupuncture stimulates the natural healing ability of the body through biochemical responses. Modern scientific research studies have demonstrated that acupuncture can influence autonomic nervous system responses (blood pressure, heart rate variability, muscle activity) and modulate brain performance such as improvement of mitochondrial activity and restoration of the blood brain barrier.

With insertion of very thin disposable surgical steel needles, your acupuncturist should always be working with you based on your personal comfort level. Most often acupuncture is a deeply relaxing experience.

Although you don't need to have a physical condition to benefit from acupuncture, it can help to address mental and emotional stress including depression, insomnia and anxiety, chronic pain, promote recovery from surgery or injury, promote hormone regulation and fertility outcomes, and safely support all phases of pregnancy including labor induction. Sandy also offers facial acupuncture with facial gua sha massage.
